Turning complicity into arms deals and military partnerships

2 February 2026
h. 18:00 (Length: 1 h.)

This 2nd session will shift to the national level, taking a look on how European governments turn complicity into national policies, arms deals, and military partnerships. While countries like Spain or France have faced large public pressure to halt or reconsider arms exports to Israel, others, especially in Eastern Europe, are quickly expanding military cooperation, prioritizing rearmament over social issues.

The main speakers will be:
Vlad Mureşan, a member of the Palestine Solidarity Cluj-Napoca collective and coordinator of the Elbit Out! Campaign in Romania;
- a representative of RESCOP (Solidarity Network Against the Occupation of Palestine,  active on demanding an arms embargo on Israel & denouncing political and corporate complicity (TBC);
Luca Saltalamacchia, Italian lawyer heading up lawsuits against Leonardo as part of the campaign "In nome della legge. Giù le armi, Leonardo!".

Presentations will be followed by a discussion with speakers and peace groups members of the European Network Against Arms Trade (ENAAT)

This series of two webinars explores the European complicity with the Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its decades-long military occupation of Palestine in particular through arms trade and strengthened military cooperation, including increased dependency from Israeli security and “battle-tested” technologies, and how resistance is growing and civil society is organising to challenge those policies.

The first webinar will take place on Monday 26/01 at 6pm CET and will focus on "EU & European complicity through military cooperation and dependency"
