Fuori l'Italia dalla guerra - Keep Italy out of the war

The Italian Anti-Imperialist Axis is a national network bringing together people, associations, and organisations from all over Italy committed to opposing imperialism, war, militarisation, and foreign domination.

On 24 October, we will take to the streets in Rome for a national demonstration under the banner “Fuori l’Italia dalla guerra” — “Keep Italy out of the war”.

Our aim is to build a broad, grassroots, non-violent mobilisation against war, militarisation, and rearmament, and against Italy’s involvement in ongoing and future wars. We reject the logic of war as a means of resolving international conflicts and the diversion of ever greater resources towards military expenditure at the expense of social needs.

We stand with the Palestinian people and call for an end to the genocide in Gaza and to the occupation of Palestine. At the same time, our mobilisation goes beyond any single conflict: we oppose the wider drive towards war and military escalation, and we stand in solidarity with all peoples subjected to aggression, occupation, and war.

We believe that opposing war also means defending the right of peoples to self-determination, rejecting policies of domination and imperialism, and working towards relations between peoples based on peace, justice, sovereignty, and mutual respect.

It is of fundamental importance to us that this call should be as broad and inclusive as possible. We want it to reach all associations, organisations, movements, and individuals who identify with the principles and positions set out in our call for mobilisation, regardless of their political affiliation or background.

This is not intended to be a demonstration belonging to one particular political camp. We want everyone who shares these aims to feel invited to take part. This includes peace movements and religious organisations — such as the “Preti contro il genocidio” (“Priests against Genocide”) network or the Union of Islamic Communities in Italy — whose commitment may arise from different traditions but converges with ours in opposing war and standing in solidarity with Palestine.

We therefore invite organisations, associations, movements, and individuals who share these principles to join the mobilisation and to be with us in Rome on 24 October.

We want 24 October to be the expression of a broad and united movement capable of saying clearly and unequivocally: keep Italy out of the war.
